Carl J. Corky Ritter

	Carl J. Corky Ritter, 65, of DuQuoin, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2000 at his home.
	Corky was a retired safety inspector at the DeSoto Consol #5 Coal Mine. he was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin, Sacred Heart Parish Council, the church choir.  He was a life member of the DuQuoin Elks Lodge where he was secretary for over 20 years.  He was a member of the DuQuoin Tourism Committee and worked for many years with the American Cancer Society Perry County Chapter Walk-A-Thon.  He portrayed Father Christmas for eight years, providing enjoyment to the old and young.  He was the Easter Bunny for the Elks programs for 10 years.
	Carl was born May 13, 1935 in DuQuoin, the son of Victor H. and Luella C. (Martin) Ritter.  He married Christine Dalman on September 7, 1957 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in DuBois and she survives.
	He is survived by his wife of DuQuoin; mother, Luella C. Ritter of DuQuoin; three children, C. Jeffrey Ritter and wife Regina of Manchester, MO, Carla J. Prusacki and husband Joseph J. of Sterling, Vir. and John Ritter and wife Cheryl, A. of Columbia; one brother, Victor Ritter and wife Elizabeth of Herrin; one sister, Barbara J. Brock and husband Gary of DuQuoin,  five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Jessica, Joshua And Madeline Ritter and nieces and nephews.
	He was preceded in death by his father.
	Funeral services were Tuesday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
	Friends were able to call from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.  The Rosary was said at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
	Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends may make memorials to Masses or to any of the church programs or to the Perry County Hospice.
